OUR VISIT TO
NORTH CAROLINA
WAS OUTSTANDING...

We began our trip to Western North
Carolina at America's largest home, the Biltmore House in Asheville
North Carolina. One cannot help but wonder what a believer might
have done with the money the Vanderbilt family spent of itself and this
250 room mansion on 8000 acres.
Black-eyed Susans and the Calico
flower were just a small part of what we enjoyed seeing at the Biltmore
Gardens and we also visited the University of North Carolina Arboretum
Apparently Sis. Carol and these flowers don't like each other as you see
them sticking their tongues out at each other below.
An amazing thing happened when we returned to Mayberry RFD: we had
gone back in time to when everything was black and white....
And speaking of Black & White, here is Sheriff Andy and Barney's...
While in Mayberry (Mt. Airy) we stopped by Floyd the Barger, but he
couldn't do anything for me...
We experienced a great deal of fog:
The gardens were gorgeous...
but we most enjoyed Sandburg's home and reading what he thought about
his own writing:
